Wild thread color with Rainshadow?

Next project will be to redo an 8 ft 4 wt 3 pc Rainshadow with ceramics. Anybody have any different...perhaps kind of wild...color combo's for the thread work on the green blank.

Yeah, garnet or red without cp looks really sharp on the green blanks.
I also like using the red or garnet as the trim on a dark green wrap.

Wild Color!! Right up my alley - Mardi Gras Colors - Look at the picture of the mardi gras marble on the Photo Board. Mr. Vivona said it looked like a spot he had on his carpet after a wild party.

Purple - Green - Gold with a Black Mask - I have some spare face mask decals from Decal Connection if you need one.

Goodbrod #638 with a thin metalic trim ring to match the guide or reelseat hardware. This thread looks like one of those bright blue dragonflies if you do it right. Ralph

Keith, I did a Rainshadow with deep purple wraps with light gray inset wraps and silver metallic trim bands using chrome alconites a while back. It was an old spool of purple from the late 80s. The newer purples aren't as deep. It looked awesome in the sunlight. Wish I had snapped a pic.

I am finishing up this exact blank now for my brother in-law. I used chrome alconites, chestnut wraps with tan insets and silver metallic trim banks on the hook keeper wraps and stripper. 2 coats of 811. It has no winding check, fenwick style grip and a downlocking seat with walnut insert. Very retro, very cool. It reminds me of the rods I saw at Abercrombie & Fitch as a kid in the early seventies. (Back when they had a shotgun case as far as the eye could see... Far cry from their stores now!) I'll be adding an inscription tonight using silver ink and a B-6 speedball nib. Can't wait to give it to him.

Go wild, Ladd

One of Angler's Workshop's house tread color is called Evergreen. To me it looks like a dark olive green. It along with Sulky copper meralic trim and inlays looks realy sharp on any green blank.

Later,
Gerald Mc

Wrap every guide a different color and do a rainbow type fancy wrap. Jesse

Regular Goldenrod without CP. It turns super clear but gives a natural look against the green of the blank. Looks even better in the sunlight. Be sure to pack it tight and heat it well to get the bubbles in the tunnels out
