How to you cover the prep marks on feet of the gold guide? Re: Gold guides

Use a magic marker or Sharpie. Let it dry and put a coat of color preserver over it to prevent any leakage into the wrapping threads. Re: Gold guides

I ran into that situation recently, and found that model paint works fairly well too (I didn't have any gold markers around). I did some tests before I actually put it on the rod. The best result came with gold model paint (don't remember the brand) covered with Gudebrod 811 CP. The finish I used was Duragloss LS Supreme. I had no trouble with the finish and the paint reacting. Whatever you do, make sure you test it beforehand. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
