How fast it too fast for drying?

I've built a turner with a 100 rpm motor that I like for applying epoxy. Is that too fast to just leave it on the same motor for drying?

For applying it would be ok. I know that at St Croix they apply at 200 rpm. For drying that would not be a good speed. Would suggest something in the 4-18 rpm range.

Can someone elaborate on why it may be too fast? What is a maximum suggested speed?

You'll know if it's too fast; it'll sling the finish up the feet of the guides.

If the rod is spun to fast while drying the finish can run up any higher part of the rod, such as the guide feet, winding check, etc... This will be less likely with thick finish, but more likely with thinner finish...
