Has any one used the Pac Bay XGSU110M-2 blank for a Plugging rod? what did you think of it? Should I use another blank for Pluuging for Stripers on the beach with plugs ranging from 1-3 oz Thanks Joe Re: Pac Bay PBX Surf Blank$$$$

My personal opinion is that 11' is a bit long for a plugging stick. I use 9' rods almost exclusively for that type thing. I just find them easier to handle for long days on the beach. I don't know where your located, but if you come to something like the rod builders show you could flex and test cast some blanks at the show and get a better idea of which one would work best for you. I plan to check out several models I've had my eyes on in person at the show in February. Catalog specs are nice but nothings beats actually handling the blank to get a feel for what it will do. The pbx series are good blanks, but i think the XGSU110M-2 may be a little lite for a three oz plug. I've built on an XGSU110h-2 and 100h-2 that throw a 2 - 3 oz plug well off the beach. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
