Can somebody help me get started with thread art. I have no idea how to get started , what materials are needed or where to find paterns.

Are you talking about decorative wraps. Butt wraps, etc. or weaving? They are 2 completely different things. Let us know just what you are attempting to do and I'm sure you will get plenty advice.

Weaving, I'm not sure what butt wraps are but I would like to know about weaving. I found a loom on line but it was $289.00, I am just wanting to get started and don't want to sell my first born (YET)

Get the back issue of Rodmaker that had Jim Upton's article in it. $6.95 for a great instructional piece. You can't do much better than that. It's how I finally learned.

Chris,

Check out the Photo Page (button above) and click on thread art. If you're not aware of what a Butt wrap is, you may have the terms confused.
Check out the pix. They will state which ones are weaves
