A few posts ago on a different string I promised to provide everyone the results of an epoxy remover that I saw in a jewelry supply outlet. The name of the product is ATTACK manufactured by Hughes Associates, Wayzata MN. The bottom lines are: it works but is unsuitable for rod crafting purposes. First there is a long and very scary warning on the label "Contains Methylene Chloride - carcinogen... use only in well ventilated areas, open all windows and doors or use other means to ensure fresh air movement... Do not use in basement" ... Followed by the instructions which stipulate immersing the epoxy to be removed in a glass container and cap immediately to prevent evaporation. Clean up is wash with soapy water and rinse in acetone. I put in a couple of rod blank off-cuts some with guides attached in a glass jar with a glass top/rubber ring. The blanks (graphite, fiberglas, composites) do not appear to have been damaged., 12 hours later the epoxy was dissolved from the threads on the guides. Re: Epoxy remover

Ken, You are not trying to get epoxy off of a blank. We know that you are trying to clean epoxy off your dog's tail. You would not have this problem if you would stop applying the epoxy with the poor dog's tail. Do you have a cat? Try using the cat's tail. A cat can probably clean it off himself. Re: Epoxy remover

Bill - I think the guy who was printing the label died before he finished because there is no skull/cross bones on the label - As bad as this stuff sounds the entire rear panel should be one big W A R N I N G! ... Another tid-bit from the back label : "First Aid: INHALATION. Remove to fresh air, if breathing has stopped administer artificial respiration" ... Re: Epoxy remover
