Wrapping Cord

Does anyone have any suggestions where I could order seine twine, nylon cord, whatever you want to call it for wrapping rod rips. Been looking everywhere with little luck.

I am interested in colors and options - not just white or black.

Also, I prefer not to dye anything.

Help,

Jeff

Lowes, Home Depot, or any well-stocked building supply store is a good bet. That kind of twine is used in a number of building applications, and I've found it in a number of colors -- usually pretty bright though, because it needs to be visible.

I used a flourescent yellow to wrap the grip of a medium tan blank, and when I varnished the cord to give it a little protection against the elements, the varnish knocked down the brightness pretty big time. With some white and yellow wrapping for the guides and a simple diamond butt wrap, also in white and yellow, it made a pretty nice looking rod.

I've been through all the local hardware stores, Lowes, HD, OSH and all the local owned Trye Values. Tried West Marine as well. Got some of teh contractors twine. Bright yellow and white but need more colors.

Jeff

I've found some good colors of nylon rope in a yachting supply. I've built a bunch of rope handles with it and it looks great and wears well.

Try Jann's Netcraft, on the left. Also, try a camping, hiking, climbing store. Ralph
