I have decided to do my next rod with an american flag theme. It will be a 7' 30 lb.salt water rod. I know white is traditional, but I have seen on the photo board some nice looking wraps using metallic silver instead of white. However I have never seen one in person.I would like some input from you experts as to which thread would make the best looking rod. Thanks again for your help.

Tom

Tom,
I did one not to long ago that I posted pictures of. My username is nspanntx, may want to look at the member galleries under my name to see it.
On mine I used Sulky metallics in red, silver, and blue. I think it looks awesome!! It turned out better than I had hoped being it was the first one I had done.
Tom if you need anything just give me a holler.
Hope this helps,
Noel

I have wrapped several using NCP scarlet, white and blue with a gold flag pole. The overwrap I like to use is done in black. The blue is actually a blue and with silver mylar that the Holland Thread Co. used to sell.

Something I like is to use blue/silver trimar thread for the "stars" section... looks much nicer than solid blue in my opinion.

Noel,

Great looking wrap. Am about to start my first one. How many axis did you use and how much of a offset? Thanks, Dan
