This is my first post after several months of reading this forum. You guys have helped me build 4 fly rods. Many thanks! I am currently building my 5th rod for my cousin. While reaming the handle (with a rat-tail), I apparently reamed it too much on one side. Unfotunately, I did not notice this until the epoxy had cured, and I noticed that the top of the handle was slightly off center (this is a full-wells grip, by the way). It isn't a big enough flaw to effect performance, however, it is just one of those things that is bugging the heck out of me. Any solutions shy of a complete handle replacement? Thanks again! Oh, and one more thing. Actually, I reamed too much out of the top part of the grip, and filled in the void with epoxy. I could have straightened the grip before it cured. Re: Crooked foregrip

Do you have a lathe that will handle the section of rod with the grip on it? If so then it's an easy fix. You just put it in the lathe and true the grip and then reshape it. You'll lose just a bit of diameter but at least it won't bug you any more. I guess you can do this by hand but it will take longer and be harder to get it perfectly true.
