Did I see somewhere that the SCIV is available in a 2 piece again? If so, do they have the IPC technology and how do they compare to the old 2 piece rods? Thanks, Jeff

They do have the IPC technology but I really wonder if that's any better than what they had before, which I thought was great. I haven't tried one of the new ones so can't really say how the new ones stack up. I would find it hard to believe that they wouldn't be at least as good as before.

I haven't built a new SCIV 2 pc. yet, but I am in the process of building 2 new 2005 SCIV 4pc. models: 4F793.4 and 4F804.4. For what it's worth, I think these 4pc. blanks are nicer than the pre-IPC 4pc. models. Noticeably less "chunky" at the ferrules and in pre-wrapping test casting they seemed to be smoother than the old versions in power transfer. Maybe there's something to the "slimline ferrule" redesign. I was not a fan of the old 4pc. SCIV models but loved the 2pc. models. These new 4pc. models seem to be equal to the old 2pc. in smoothness, or at least darn close.

I don't know how in the world anyone could improve on my pre-IPC 4F864 but agree with William that the new technology is not likely to make the blanks worse in any way.
