I am having a problem making the area where I am butting the person name, rod blank information and my decal come out smooth. It come out with little holes that show up. I have tryed putting very light coats, more than one coat and a real heavy coat. I alway run a little heat under the wraps to get any air out. Can it be the brush that I am using. I also reorder flex coat to make sure I didn't have some that went bad. Thanks for any help Re: Need Help

Finish doesn't go bad. You've either popped a bunch of bubbles by heating it or there's something on the rod there that doesn't want to accept the finish. I'd clean it good with alcohol and then block sand it smooth. Use finer and finer grits and then recoat but use a different brush. You might even wash the brush first in alcohol and then in warm soapy water followed by a cold fresh water rinse. Those steps get rid of any possible contaminants you might have around there. To me it sounds like those holes are actually fish eyes due to contamination. You may have a long road to find out what it was. I tried replacing everything just to find out my oily hands were causing my headaches. A thicker finish helps i.e. LS supreme hi-build. I hope this helps.
