Can someone suggest a supplier of Scott flyrod blanks? My brother seems to think he wants me to build him one. Thanks

I had a customer last year with the same request. Scott blanks are only available from a Scott dealer who will, if he is following the factory program, charge you full retail.
Scott will set a business owner up as a blank dealer, but the first year commitment was $1500 when I inquired. This was the first request I had gotten for a Scott blank, so I chose not to commit. I explained the situation to the customer and suggested he switch to the comparable Sage XP. He did and is very satisfied with his decision to do so.

Contact Scott directly. They will put you in touch with a vendor you can purchase from. Blanks are available, but without a wholesale discount, unless you meet similar criteria mentioned in the previous reply. This is typical with many of the high-end blank manufacturers, i.e. Sage, Orvis, etc. There is one particular reputable company that handles many Scott blank models, but apparently I can't mention the name because of the "board" rules. Better yet, contact me and I'll drop some names. If your brother really wants a Scott, build him what he wants. Hope this helps.

You have badly misinterpreted the board rules. You are free to mention any dealer who sells the blanks the gentleman has asked about. He asked for information and all are allowed to give it to him.

What you, or that dealer, are not allowed to do, is openly promoted or start threads intended to create sales of that product unless you are a sponsor.

There is a huge difference.

Thank you for your clarification and insight, Tom. When I had previously responded to Al's post and suggested a dealer name and web address where he might find blanks, my response was posted, then soon thereafter removed. I presumed that what I had submitted was a no-no. Not so much badly misinterpreted, as it was a misunderstanding - my apologies.
