I am building a 7 1/2 ft 4 weight for my 10 year old grandson. Does anyone know of any good starter books on fly casting written to this age level?

I have used First cast teaching kids to flyfish by Phil Genva. I helped me to explain the basic fly casting motions. You can find it at the public library. Good Luck.

Steve, Dave Perkins suggestion to ck out Phil Genova's book is a good one. As a teacher and head or our middle schhol tly tying club, let me suggest that kids like a hands on approach. Try getting them into some blue gills. Once kids tag a few 'gills, they'll be hooked...

Godd fishing with your grandson...
