Earlier, Kyle Ligon posted a photo of a thead tension device he has made. He meant no harm, but due to the link through to MSN it was sending cookies into the computers of those who opened the post. My computer alerted me to this immediately.

Microsoft will load "cookies" onto those who do not have their computers set up to intercept and alert them to this fact. For that reason I ask people not to post photos here. Microsoft is not alone in this, but they are among the worst at gathering your personal info and selling it to other companies.

There is no love lost between myself and Microsoft, but the main reason I ask you not to do it, is that this site has been designed not to add or send anything to anyone's computers and I'd like to keep it that way. I want those who use this site to be secure in the knowledge that it does not send cookies to their computers nor are we mined for email addresses. Thanks.

Kyle, what you need to do is just provide the URL of where people can locate the photo. Then it's up to them to decide if they want to receive the MSN cookies.

To safeguard the computer's of others, I removed the photo.

Tom,
I dont remember ever posting a thread tension picture, mainly because I dont have any. Unless you mean my little man under the forecast blanks post.

I just use an old phone book for a thread tensioner. Too poor to buy anything else

Yes, it's not against the rules but the page it automatically links to does install cookies on the user's computer. I just don't want them thinking that those have come from this site. (Cookies are not always bad, depending on what you want someone else to know.)

Just put the URL up here without the HTML code and people can visit of their own accord. I looked at it and thought it was a very nice thread tension device. Nice job.
