Exotic Burl Question for Andy

Hey Andy...I looked at your exotic burl on your website, and thouht it was interesting. Especially the part about your next order. How do the rings hold up to slicing and cutting in a cork cutting jig? Will they reglue all right?

Hhhmmm....I don't know actually as I don't do any of that type of stuff on my own rods. I suspect the if you did the slicing on the bansaw or jigsaw it would work great. Can't say for sure about cutting by hand in a jig. I can tell you it is quite dense and machines very well. let me ask you this...how are you currently cutting your rings, with a coping saw of sorts?
I am in Houston right now (9:00pm Friday night) but will give'er a test when I get back to San Anantonio tomorrow night.
FYI, The next order will also contain several different grain patterns that may be more conducive to cutting by hand.
