I read a post further down the board about an intersection point. I believe that it has to do with guide placement in reference to the reel but I am not sure. I was just wondering what it is and what it accomplishes on the finished rod. Thanks in advance. Re: Intersection Point?????

Justin, It is one of the terms and components of the New Guide System. It is explained fully in the July/August 2000 issue of RodMaker along with the "how-to" of setting it up. Basically, we want the line to follow a straight path along the reel spool centerline on out to the point where that path intersects with the blank. From there the line is routed on out to the tip with the smallest and lowest framed guides possible. By getting weight off the tip of the rod, which the standard spinning guide placement creates, we get a more responsive rod and hopefully a bit more casting distance. ...........
