changing a blank from matte clear to dull finish

I have several customers that do not like a matte clear finish, and would rather have a dull finish. What is the best way to go about converting a blank that has a clear finish to a dull finish. I was thinking that using Scotch Brite (grey) might be the best way. But want to get the advice of those that have already been through this. Re: changing a blank from matte clear to dull finish

Very fine Scotchbrite would certainly dull the finish. So would polishing with some type of car finish polish (not necessarily wax). Do as little of this as possible and try not to change the fit on any ferrule. Also be aware that technically you void most of the blank manufacturers warranties when you alter the blank, including the finish, in any way. ..........................
