Yes it is, use can use a power wrapper and screening, a lathe, or even by hand. The last one can take forever. Re: Turning Down EVA Foam Grips

Hey Joe Grips can be shaped etc very very easily what makes this process simple is speed the higher the speed the easier the task. If you have a lathe chuck the blank start with approx 200 grit sandpaper to get the approx od or shape .Maye sure to stop and look at your grips quite often since at high speed the sandpaper cuts like a knife thue soft butter.Next use 400 grit to 600/800/1000 the grips will finish silky smooth. The sandpaper should be cut into 1 inch strips and moved back and forth as the rod is spinning Good Luck IZZY Re: Turning Down EVA Foam Grips

That's true, but the high speed also creates heat which can permanently soften a grip to a noticeable degree. Opt for power over speed, if you have it (most rod lathes do not). Turn and shape at under 2000 RPM and you won't change the durometer hardness of the grip much if at all. Otherwise do as Izzy says and spin it fast. .................
