Hey Bill, Check the search and look for a post by Harlin. I talked with him some time ago and he had a great technique for his Tenn. grips. He's from GA so I'd feel safe betting he's made and fished at least one for Bass. It's worth getting in touch with him for the info. He's done a fair amount of testing an has a nice plan. If you have trouble finding the post, email me and I'll put you in touch. Ray Re: Tennesse handle

Bill, My dad won't let me build him a spinning rod without a Tennesee handle. That's all he'll use. If you go that route, don't get the St Croix handle kits. The graphite rings loosen a lot easier than aluminum rings. Bob at Custom Tackle has a great handle set. He has an 11" with aluminum spin rings that fits perfectly for a bass rod. The rings are tight and hold any reel perfectly. Thanks, Rick Re: Tennesse handle

As Rick mentioned, we have the cork TN. Spin Handles. Besides the 11" grip he mentioned, we have 8" for ultra lite, 10" for lite, 10" for med., 12" for med. to med.-hvy. and longer rods, a 14" and even up to 20" for the longer rods. Besides the cork, we also offer the original, all graphite, Tennessee "Sensor" spinning handles. We sell thousands of all these type handles each year. Some love TN. handles, while others like to have the easy on and off of a reel, from an actual threaded style spin seat. It is a love or not care for issue with TN. style handles. Many also use tommy tape to hold the reel. This eliminates rings, though haven't heard any particular complaints about the St. Croix tennessee handle kits. The cork on these are very good quality and reasonably priced. They are available in several sizes from 8", 11", 13" and 20". A lot of these are sold with great satisfaction. We also have one piece cork tennessee handles with flared ends, but the 2 piece seem to be more popular to put on as a grip. Rich Garbowski Richard's Rod & Reel Re: Tennesse handle

The only way to bass fish!! Loose the rings and use nylon strapping tape, then either tommy tape, electrical tape (don't skimp on the price) or RodWrap. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
