I'm planning on building a 9' Spinning Rod for Salmon fishing. I was going to give the New Concept Guide System a shot, but have one question. Is there such a thing as double foot high frame guides? I know I need some extra height on certain guides, but just don't feel comfortable with using single foot guides on a rod I intend to use for large fish. I've looked in a couple of catalogs, but have not seen any. Thanks for the input. Jim Re: New Concept Guide System ???

The single foot guides are stronger than the rod. You will have no problem with there. There is not a fish that swims that can hurt them. Fuji used to make special extra high frame surf guides that came in 40 - 30 -25 -20 -16 -12 and 10 sizes. They looked just like the SVSG but only about twice as high. They were expensive and must not have sold very well as they are no longer made. You might be able to find a handful of the sizes you need from one of the sponsors. Surely somebody has some lying around. Re: New Concept Guide System ???

There are double footed guides of such in Alconite, model number BMNAG and in SIC, MNSG. These both are double footed and designed as the newer Concept Fuji type guides. Bob McKamey -- Custom Tackle Supply Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
