I guess it was about two months ago I started thinking about building a fishing rod. Over twenty years ago I had created three surf rods, more homemade than homecrafted, but wonderful none the less. Found this site about six weeks ago and check it everyday now. A wealth of stored information and a wonderful group of people taking the time to answer the questions of beginners. Found a Rainshadow blank on sale at Cabelas and quickly ordered to lock myself in. With the blank coming in the mail, I was back into rodbuilding. Mudhole is a couple miles down the road from my house. Drove over and picked up the essentials, along with a copy of Toms book. Even picked up the thread I was going to wrap with, but now! Started thinking that I should create a whole set of matching rods to cover all my fishing needs. Can't sleep at night because I'm thinking about what colors to wrap this now important set of rods that will be me. I have to sit down with the family to decide which room will house my rod building area. I know that will go over big. Oh well, I'm very excited and ready to get the glue out Thanks Tom for a terrific site, Clay Re: Thank you(I think)

"Couple miles from Mudhole"!!! That's like a drunk living next door to a Bud plant!! My favorite vendor. Their's no hope for you now! Your family will just have to learn to except your addiction. Mike Re: Thank you(I think)
