I have fround down a set of Fuji Alconite guides and I am woundering how people protect the bear metal from corrosion. The guide feet will be wrapped with two layers of A thread. Thanks Re: Guide Foot Prep

The rod finish should provide all the protection needed. I guess that is all that it does is protect the threads and all else under it (unless pigments are mixed in it, then it serves another purpose entirely). It isn't completely weather proof, but it does its job. Putter Re: Guide Foot Prep

Scott, you could cover the ground areas of the guide foot with a Sharpie marker for extra protection, but I'm willing to bet it's not necessary. Go <*)))>>><: Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
