Does anyone have any suggestions about a fast action 5 weight flyrod that is relatively affordable (under $200, or better yet $100). I would like to build a few rods rather than just one. Thanks, Mike Re: affordable fast action 5 weight?

St. Croix has a very nice fast action blank, the SCIV series, a 7'6, 8'0, 8'6 and a 9'0 prices range from $82.00 to $102.00 from mudhole tackle. CustomTackle.com also sells them for about the same price. Re: affordable fast action 5 weight?

I'd take a look at the Cabela's FT (Fast Taper) series, and also look at the Cabela's Premium custom build kits. For around $100 (or a little less) you get an entire build kit for only $11 more than the blank. Re: affordable fast action 5 weight?

I built a 5/6 wt from a Perigee blank. I think that it's listed as Mod / Fast but it's a pretty fast rod. It sure turned out nice. I used silver and other nice stuff and ended up with $205 in it. E.. Re: affordable fast action 5 weight?
