I too have had problems with cp, guides working loose( I filled the tunnel). So is it possible to use permagloss as your first coat, let it cure and then come back with a second coat of a light finish such as cystal coat or flexcoat lite? By the way I'll be using ncp thread. Pat Re: Permagloss?

Yes you can - making a 100% solids epoxy a top coat over Permagloss will certainly work. But if your guides are coming loose, it's not the fault of your CP or finish type. If it was, then all of us who use those products would also have problems in this regard. We don't. Thread tension needs to be not too tight, but not too loose. CP should be applied in a first application that is sufficient to fully fill and seal the threads. And of coursse, your epoxy should fill the tunnel openings. ..............
