Hi I have a small custom rod business and I am wondering how to become a sponser of this site and further help my business. Our site is [home.talkcity.com] I would really appreciate it if someone can help us. We are trying to help our small business become big. Is there any discounts for young rod builders? Im only 14 and Id love to become a sponser. Re: How do you become a sponser?

Don, Sponsoring this board will not really help your custom rod business. The sponsors here are selling products and services to the rod builders, not custom rods to fishermen. But, you may wish to take a look at www.tackleworks.org which is a directory of rod and reel repair persons and custom rod builders. I have budgeted $15,000 for advertising and promotion of the site to the fishing public this year. Those who are listed there can expect some new business before much longer (some have already reported new sales). One thing you will want to consider, if you have not already, is the necessity of having all the required licenses and tax documents in order before officially declaring yourself a business. Once you begin offering products and/or services to the public, you will be required to be in compliance with these sorts of things. Please use my email to contact me directly if you have any more questions. .............................. Re: How do you become a sponser?

Well now that I think about it we arent really a business, but we still want to sell custom rods and flies. Can I still advertise on other sitets or do I just have to sell to local buyers? Re: How do you become a sponser?

Don, I'm not sure I understand the question. If you are looking to sell custom rods, then becoming a sponsor on a general fishing message board is a better bet. Or at TackleWorks.org which is geared to fishermen who are looking for rod repair and custom rods. I suppose you could sell to anyone who contacts you. ..........................
