I asked a guy on youtube what hat he used and he said that he used ProKote but I do think that it would be too soft and scuff and dent and scratch I know that the old flex coat did.

Would Pro-Kote Standard build be a good choice for a long lasting durable epoxy overcoat for grips or would some other be better.

I need your suggestions on picking a good handle for a downrigging rod. I want a handle that is easy to be removed from the rod tube when trolling and does not get stuck in the tube and is easy to remove. I have looked at both the slick grips made by Batson and the Carbon Fiber Grips and it seems like Slick Grips are more for saltwater with a big "OD" and to big for a lake freshwater ro

70% isopropyl alcohol work just fine because isopropyl alcohol is much cleaner then it used to be and it is cheaper too.

All that need is a standard casting reel seat with a wooden body with a size 16 hood and you can look at the link in the first post to get a good idea of what I am looking for. The problem with the reel seats that show in the link is that they are for spinning reels and they will not work with a casting reel.

Like these only for casting as these are for spinning reels wrong hood size.

Those are just colors that I was thinking of using but I was also thinking that maybe a yellow trim band would look good with the black thread.

Your right Michael it is hard to find a good color combo on Royal Blue and I just keep running into the same problem when I try to put a good color combo together and that problem is that no color combo really shines and sticks out on this blank.

Does anybody have a good idea of how well these two blank would compare to each other as I am looking for a good all around pitching worm jig casting rod 3/4 to 1 oz baits but more for only 3/4 oz at the most.
Rainshadow REVC72H is a Heavy/fast action blank
Rainshadow SWB70H is for saltwater and is a Mod-Fast Heavy power blank
And how well would the E-glass play into this type of rod.
