What makes me the most nervous is a 10'8" 8wt throwing 1 oz. And Spencer, its a casting rod he's building, not a traditional switch

I think we should be focusing more on the Rod building than the actual political aspects that people are trying to portray. Rod building has survived for decades, thru thick and thin, wars, recessions pandemics, etc and will continue to survive.

If everyone would look at the pic the OP posted you would see that it has 2 wrap points( one on each end) The Kigan in the picture only has 1 wrap point and is a slide in style keeper

I would pick the blank of your choice, and then have Don Shafar ar Backbone Custom Rods paint it to the exact color you desire. If purchased from Mudhole or American Tackle, he even picks up from them to do the process

What I do not understand regarding this post, is what members here are supposed to do about it. As with most of the vendors listed here, the issue is generally corrected in a timely matter with just a simple phone call to them.

I understand the meaning of grounding, but what I fail to understand in a lot of cases, is the rod is mounted in a chuck with rubber jaws and then suspended throughout it length by rubber rollers.

I set all mine at 30" from the butt, not counting a fighting butt. If you have a 2" fighting butt then it end up at 32" from the very back. This is what I teach all my students and inquirerers and have never experienced a single complaint. I will also state that I see nothing wrong with 28 29 31 or 32.

I was not aware of Conolon ever offering something like a 6 or 6.5 length 2wt that the customer was requesting. For a build like that, I would most likely check on a Steffen Bros blank

There is also going to sometimes be a variance in color depending on the color of the blank being wrapped
