Thanks guys, I'm really not to worried about dents in the cork as these are personal rods I'm building on the Baston 822.5 blanks for walleye jigging. I really don't care for reel seats when the weather gets cold here in Mi so I kind of shy away from them. I thought I would try the Tommy tape instead of the hockey tape I used in the past. Thanks Ja

Thats all I use on my casting rod and hand held rods, in the past all cork, but now I am using graphite tubes on my new builds. And I think I'm going to really like them. I have a few Fuji plate reel seats to try also.

When I make lamps I use one of these But thinking foam you may think of a piece of steel tube - brake line? sharpened around one end and push it though? or cut 1" off the end of a drill and epoxy it in the I.D. of the tube. The drill will start the cut and cuttings will flow out the tube? Just Thinking here? Jay

Well? Think about it some? These spools are small and can be a pain to adjust the front drags when your fighting a fish, I use a rear drag Okuma Epixor ER30 Getting hard to find though. I have several stocked up, Now they have a new model that looks good also! Also keep in mind your {Ratio} keep the retreive speed up or you will be cranking your ars off.
