thanks for all the feedback guys. I know nothing about machining. If and when I get a 3 or 4 jaw chuck, I'll pray that it doesn't wobble.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.
Going with a Drill Chuck w/ a #2 Taper for starters. If it doesn't work out, Than i can upgrade.
Also picked up a new live center for the tailstock.

Acquired an older Atlas/Craftsman 7122 Lathe. The headstock is 1"x10tpi which is a very unique size and hard to find. Most likely I'll need an adapter.
What chuck is recommended for turning grips/handles? I'm new to the chuck game and I see there are metal chucks and woodturning chucks. Is one better than the other?
Are 4 jays better than 3 jaws? any particular jaw style bett

Customer likes to use 10lb mono. Will mono work as well in a "concept" style guide layout? Which guide train style works the best for mono?

Reel = Daiwa 6500BG -50lb Braid
Leaning towards KW guides. Can I use KT guides as running guides or do I need the beefiness of the double footed KW guides (as well as guide size 12)?
So many choices, ideas, concepts, theories.

Got notice that a Temple Fork - 8'9". 7 weight from the "Clouser" series is coming into the repair shop. It has a busted snake fly guide on it. I'm trying to get a jump on the repair. Does anyone know what color thread is/was used on these builds? Looks to be a blue of some sort?

And does anyone have a stash of them? Need one in a size 6 or 8? Located on an old Fenwick rod that the customer wants repaired.

I had this happen too in the past. Someone told me to wrap the decal around a similar diameter blank for a few days prior (using rubberbands or something similar) to "train" the decal how it should go. Works pretty well.

Anyone know what type of guide this is? It's on a KVD 7'4 Cranking Rod. All the research online says that it is a Batson Guide XR guide or ALPS LXN Micro guides (aren't these double foots?) Not sure what to think??
Thanks for the help

I've used classicflyfisherman.com. There is a link there to custom rod socks. I've had them embroidered and custom made numerous times. Qualtiy work.
