1261. Re: CTS
Steve,
thanks for the feedback!! I am looking to put a couple of new pitchin sticks in the lineup as that seems to encompass most of what I have been doing here in the local waters besides crankin.
thanks

Good evening Steve
nice to hear from ya! I know that you enjoy the rx8+ quite a bit. Do you know of anyone using CTS for bass fishing or have you tried them? It has been quite some time since I got mine. I think that it has been something like 5 years or so.

1263. CTS
I recall all of the buzz about CTS when they first hit the streets and then as I understand it they ran into some sort of production/delivery problems.. What is the word on them? Is there anyone out there still using them? I have an early blank that I picked up from Andy and it is still my absolute favorite spinnerbait rods. I do have to say, the blank that I have which I don't recall the exact m

Mike,
I agree it does appear to at least be sourced from Matagi but personally I am not too fond of the way the rubberized cork looks on the end of it (has an unfinished look to it). I much prefer their standard balancer to this one.

Bill, you are indeed correct that the stick that I have from Rich is lower modulas! Love it, but I have to say that I also really like the high modulas version of this as well for certain presentations.
You definately hit the nail on the head with flipping!!! Far too many picth yet call it flip!

Rich,
I still have the flip stick that you built for me back in 2004 and am VERY interested to know what you are now using for a blank. Could I ask that you send me an email? I love the action of that particular stick and have built a couple more but with micro's for myself.. The only problem that I have is I MUCH prefer the higher modulas blanks that are next to impossible to find and I've

1268. Re: Prison rods
Here is my take on it, although they may be only making .60 cents an hour, who cares. They have broken broken the law and are serving the sentence to which they were given. If they make large amounts of money on the rods they are selling, good. One would tend to believe that this money would be going back to the prison system, aleviating some of the burden that Joe Public has to incur to rehabili

Andy,
I have built two of the 720's and have been very happy with them. You know that going with Karen she will treat you right every time! I got mine as replacements for the IMX's which I was too cheap to pay out the cash for most models. I am not sure what models you will use but I think that you will be pleasantly suprised with them.

No, it is a St. Croix blank. They build their Avid series on these. I use these myself for blades in heavier vegatation in MN or any other place with heavy weed cover. I think that you will really like it if you give it a try. I have not used the others that have been mentioned so I cannot give an accurate comparison, either way I don't think you will be unsatisfied with any of them as they are a

almost as jittery as a kid on Christmas Eve. I can't wait to attend again this year. Looking forward to picking up the deals like always and seeing new faces that I have long talked to and seeing old friends as well. Thanks guys,
I have been using reamers as well but I think that I might be putting a little too much speed to them.... ate them up pretty badly.

1273. boring reel seat
Morning guys,
What are you all using to bore out the graphite type of casting seats (ecsm and the like)? Will the spade bits work or do you have something better that you would recommend.
thanks,

I was shocked when I saw string... almost twine like under the seat of a Falcon Gunsmoke when I redid it.

I noticed the same thing with the price point of those particular blanks. I will let him know what he is looking at and we can go from there.

Gene,
I was aware that the gentleman had got the rod at BPS and actually did recognize it as such when he showed it to me. I sort of suprised myself that I even knew it was a Bass Pro rod before he told me. Do you possibly have a suggestion for a replacement?
By the way..... I normally don't do much with fly rods and my experience with them is very limited.. This is a good friend and that is

1279. gouged LSG 6
Evening everyone,
I was looking at some gear today after I had come home from fishing and found that I have a noticably gouged LSG6 on my 4c68mxf on which I use 30lb power pro. (this rod was built prior to micro's hitting the scene) It is the second guide back from the tip and there are no other guides on the rod that are damaged... any ideas on what may have caused this?? The rod was built wit

John without knowing the specifics of what he wants it is a little hard to recommend but on a general check out Swampland, Batson and Croix, have heard good things about Phoenix as well and cannont comment from first hand experience..... LOTS of options in there for these type of blanks.

Scott,
I have some of the Shikari c563's left at the house if you are interested. I think that I paid 12.00 a piece for them. They are clean, straight and are not seconds. They are clearly marked on the butt in the normal fasion for Shikari, I would also look at the 3c56mf as they have removed some of the power from what they previously were.
