Ok guys, I picked up a HM North Fork blank while I was at the show and love it. What are you impressions of the IM and SM series? Are they above the other offerings on the market. I ask this to better inform my customers to have the best tool for the job. For instance do the IM's compare to RX8, SCIII,SCIV or XMG? Do the SM's compare to SCII, RX7, IM700, MHX Thanks, Tom

Chuck, that would be FANTASTIC if you had the opportunity to do this. I too have gone the same route with BYAG's as well as the VS3's for braid rods (flouro is a different story). He specifically asked for these guides and I don't have any experience with them. THANK YOU Tom

Steve, You are not alone. I had a request for a particular blank and out of the pure generosity of his heart Bill gladly donated the rod of his own free will for the event I was donating it to!! Unfortunately, I missed Bill at the show to reciprocate his generosity so the mail man is going to have to be the one to deliver it to him.

1118. M frames
Evening gents, I have a request to build 2 spinning rods utilizing M frames for the first few... The first rod will be a XP8 ip840 for panfish person will be using 4lb fireline as well as 5lb power pro. They will be using a symetre 750 for the 5lb and a sahara 500 for the 4lb... I am thinking for this one maybe a 12 for the butt yet not sure what to use next. The second rod is a MHXsj783 w

I don't have that reel in hand right now but I think that if you can find HT #521 and not use CP it would be a pretty close match Tom

Puting a pin hole in her face is MUCH different than RIPPING a gash.. all accomplised via the iron yet depending on your choice of stick you might end up with one or another. See Bill and Lance at the show and they will show you the sticks capable of putting the green (pun inteneded) into the boat with only a pin hole.. this is definately a case of where "bigger is not always better" i

Jonathan, Give Bill or Lance a call at Swampland.... they will take care of ya. He has the cure for you pulling the bait out of the fishes mouth... and to answer your question, yes, a different style of blank can and will cure this. Tom

Sounds great Tom, I will look in the longer ranges as well..... might just have to get one longer one and a shorter one.... can you ever have enough? Tom

Jim, My Fenwick was a 7'6" 4-weight so I am definately not against this length... obviously on ponds lengthy casts really aren't a huge priority for bluegills and the occasional crappie I have put one on the list to put in hand.... I thought that by going with a little longer length I might open up the options. Tom

Tom, Funny you should mention those, I was just looking at them...Hopefully they will be at the show as I would really like to get my hands one one. The price range isn't set in stone but I don't want to get overly crazy with it.

Afternoon gentleman, Ok, I am a little out of my comfort area as I typically build panfish and bass rods. I haven't done too much with fly rods and during my recent move to NC I broke my coveted HMG....... Oh well not the end of the world, I can repair it and put it up on the wall.. My question now is what is a good 8-9ft 4-5wt for pond panfish? I will typically throw mostly dry flies and the

Ben, You would most likely want to go with the BYAG as that is what I use and was show how to use ( by Mr. Gardner!!).... I have not tried transitioning directly from the 10 to the 4 you might be able to bend the frame on the four slightly to get the appropriate height... I know that you don't want to order a single guide as I didn't when I first got started but I can tell you that I have a m
