121. Re: bucktail inlay?
Like Tom said, it's going to take a lot of epoxy to cover even a small jig. Why not do a pen & ink drawing on the blank.

Use the same principle as the backpackers folding tent poles, that have bungee cord inside them. You'll have to get a gaff blank and make CARL ferrules and then insert the bungee cord.

The strongest single foot guide I know of is a FUJI BLBLG, but good luck trying to find them. So, I would suggest you get some BHNOG's and cut one leg off, file smooth, and doctor it up with a little black paint.

Aaron, Tape down a full sheet of 220 sandpaper to a flat surface. Mask off your reelseat edge. With a pencil, mark 8 (eight) equal spaced lines from end to end (like a pizza) begin sanding those lines off until you reach the level of your reelseat, then begin sanding the high spots between the marked areas to the same level.Go lightly as you can quickly destroy your grip if you over do it. You ha

Dave, If you have or can find an old crank type pencil sharpener, insert the glue stick into the sharpener and crank away until there's nothing to hold on to. Empty the shavings into a small container for future use. Now you have granulated hot melt glue that can be applied to any size tip/top, heated and applied to the rod.
By the way, all the guys above gave you good advise

If your looking for a true "red" I don't have it, but I do have about 2 dozen burgundy/chestnut colored seats wit chrome hoods and hardware.
The best thing you can do is send me the photo to see if I have a match for you. By the way, your contact info is hidden.

Paul, I have Allan seats N.O.S. in the package trigger and spinning. Your choice of sizes are 7/8" or 13/16". Chrome.
The 13/16 looks more like a 5/8" I. D. Much smaller than the 7/8" but that's how their marked on the package.

Brand loyalty is great until you get poked in the eye. How many times have you placed an order to restock your guide bins and be told that guide has been discontinued by the manufacture and your stuck with dead stock. There's rods coming in the door that still have those guides but if you don't have the one it needs what do you do ask the person if he'll accept a substitute.

No need to sand your cork grips any more, use a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser with a little water. It pull the dirt out of the cork just like using a pencil eraser. I too use to sand the grips to clean them but, since I was shown how the Magic Eraser cleaned cork I now do all my repair rods that have cork grips as a freebee just to have the rod go out looking good. Its really amazing how clean it comes

David, Don't waste your time and money on this stuff. I along with other guys here have done so only to find that this blend of Piccolastic is not for tip/top use. It is not shock resistant and can break free easily with a tap causing the tip to become loose.
The stuff you and we all would like to get is from Eastman (Piccolastis #125), if you look up their product it is granulated and has all

149. Re: What's New?
I'd have to say it's the attitude of the herd. Rodbuilding by the book was getting stale by methods and choices. We've seen experimentation with new materials and the plowing under of old components such as guides, reel seats, and blanks. Finishes are advancing at a snails pace but it seems anything can be rolled on a mandrel and it becomes the next new blank material with greater fragility and

Having been one of the guide winners of the last give away, first let me say Thank You Theron and let you know that I have built myself a Drop-Shot rod using the layout and it came out very nice.I already caught 3 bass with it fishing from shore and around a dock. A great setup.
