Set the bulk spool in a bucket up oh it's edges. While reeling line onto the reel watch the bulk spool rotate inside of bucket. No more twist. Saw this on you tube and it works.

98. Blank Frequency
So I did what I said I'd do. It became apparent very early on how useless this information will be for everybody else. Please show me the hands of those who own a Mitchell DigiFlex meter, just as I thought. These are the results. Rainshadow RevCB70H. 4" clamp,50g tip weight w/1" depth. Beam length first, CPM next. 70"=103, 60"=109, 50"=118, 40"=133, 30"=161

100. Thread Wrapping
Doing my first double footed guides. I've seen the wonderful art work and imagination implemented with under wraps. I'm improving to satisfactory results. What is unacceptable is when the feet wrapping over lap with under wrap. Seems like the threads follow the gaps between threads instead of over, leaving gaps showing the different color. I've been unable to barnish or pack the threads to r

I've been dying to ask this length question, looks like the appropriate time. Back when bass rods had pistol grip rods were LISTED shorter than most today rods.
Well, the reel seat is set further up the rod, is it really longer? Would measuring the rod from front of reel seat to tip be a truer length? Thanking all in advance.

Can't think of better purpose for the spiral wrap than pitching and flipping.

I've had the metallic explode off spool. So I'm doing some thread art using metallic (cause I have so much) when I'm having difficulty getting the saran off. By pure accident I get the loose thread end free and snatch on it in hopes of splitting the saran. Instead it unloads from the spool as if saran was off. So i says, "hey maybe i can spiral with the wrap still on." Low and behol

Having the ability to clamp a graphite shaft with a constant weight on tip using a frequency meter changed the golf shaft industry. I don't see why it wouldn't work for blanks. So you say well what cycles per minute (CPM'S) have to do with catching fish- probably nothing, but, it's a proven way to compare one shaft to another. Zone profiling allows to even compare tips.. I have such equipment

108. Re: Focused fishing
Here's my version. Bass fishing in Florida, native shiners along with mud-head minnows on the bed can't be beat. I opt for lures. Hired a guide in Okeechobee 2 years ago, begged me to fish 'em. The deal was lures only, well, his fellow guide had a son and dad party, anchored near us. 60 bass!! Mostly buck males but still. We caught 6. There is something about the journey that interests me m

I've used them on spinning and casting, and it is a superior method. I do have limited experience, but I use the rods I've built and the results are fantastic.

Fantastic. Any more evidence needed on the pound for pound fighting ability of the walleye? If it wasn't for taste would anybody fish for a wet rag ?

116. Weave size
I did a 22 thread spelling Eagles. I saw the tapering but my thought was 22 threads is 22 threads! Well the letters are smaller proportionally along the taper. This is hurting my head. Please explain this. Thanking all in advance

Being a spoonplugger, and a fan of Buck Perry and Don Dickson, their types of trolling rods are much shorter and stiffer. Don Dickson has activaded a blog and shows the equipment and results of such.
I have no experience with trolling with the rods expressed.
Looking for more experienced thoughts. Thank you to all who use this site.
