I have often wondered why there were no travel salmon and steelhead rods available on the market,and it must be due to lack of demand. Gary Loomis build his first summer steelhead rod on a fly blank,it's how he got started in rod building. There is likely a solution out there and the ccs measurements will likely be the ticket. Let us know what you come up with. I'm interested in one for traveling

Welcome to the forum and to the addiction! My first build was on a mudhole kit,and I still fish with and love that rod. I now do rod repair for friends and acquaintances and have built a number of rods. I get so much satisfaction out of it. I reeled my tiny spro swivel too far . Operator error. I throw SP minnows among other lures with this rod and I love it! The rod is solid. Components are good. And thank you yes,I just emailed Rod Builders Warehouse and Seaguide for the model runner I need. Easy fix,and maybe I'll be more careful ! Robert

So I have this Daiwa Saltist 9'2 west coast surf outfit that I had a guide insert break ,2nd guide from the tip. Daiwa touts these at SeaGuide Saltwater Guides,they look like Fuji KTs to me. Anybody know what these are? Thanks in advance! Robert
