Thank you Don! I don't participate on Facebook but I will look into that long winding check. LOVE the G2 handle, just love it,and with that CCT aero,it's too sweet!

I just dry fitted the G2 handle and CCT aero seat, size 16 to a rod I'm building. In going with the ULH locking hood, how are y'all filling that front gap in the fore grip sleeve? I figure I can just glue a piece of eva foam in there but I just wondered if anyone has any special ways of doing it. I have been researching ideas and haven't found much. I guess just reaming it enough so it spins freely

Get after it then ,instead of EVERY thread here complaining about things of this nature. I find it very odd.
As for the sentiments voiced above I don't really care about weight and p

Thanks for the tips! I want to be sure I do it easy and I will practice the drill bit thing on maybe some cheap cork grips .

I keep some finish in mixing cup handy and just check it. Never touch the epoxy on the rod! When the finish in the cup is solid I remove the rod and place it in a rack overnight to let it set up. I check my epoxy in the tin foil dish for fingeprints. You can tell when it's done. Then your rod is done!

Yeah I have the dream reamers. They work great. I have a hard time with the drill. I feel like I do a fine job of reaming by hand, but that last rod grip wore me out!!

Hi all. Is there a trick to this? I had a @#$%& of a time reaming my cork handle to a mag taper blank recently ,I got it done but it wore me out! I prefer to ream by hand as I am not too sure of myself with a drill, keeping things concentric. My next build will be a lamiglas mag taper steelhead blank with a spinning G2 Aero handle kit from American Tackle. These have graphite arbors correct? How d

I'm looking to try out the new G2 handles but I think I want a size 17 aero instead of a 16 as I have big hands. It appears these handles are built for 16 size aero seats. This rod will be an 8'6" mag taper lamiglas certified pro XSH 102 2 MT. I plan to use it for chucking spinners and twitching jogs for coho, maybe light beach duty for throwing swim baits to stripers. Any input would be grea

Try looking into the Bushido line of blanks from American Tackle. They are super nice and you should find a rod that will fit your needs.

If it is an original G1000 they were good workhorse type graphite blanks. I was under the assumption that this line was discontinued. I have a factory G1000 Pro rod and it's a good stick for the application. It's been my general experience that Lamiglas makes quality products and their customer service has always been top notch. I recently acquired an original certified pro mag salmon and steelhe

I believe I will be putting fuji torzites on this rod. I like the idea of the smaller stripper guide. I built a steelhead rod for swinging spoons with Torzites and they just look and perform fantastic. I was eyeballing the black sic fuji titaniums as well. I have used alps, pac bay,and crb guides as well, and liked all of them . Going to price everything out for him and see what I come up with late

I love fuji. I guess I was more curious how to go about setting this up properly for him. Guide height distance from the reel. I am doing research on it.

Hi all. Recently purchased a NFC FW 662-2(IM LMX) and I am building this for a friend. He fishes spinners on 4 pound test in colorado for trout, and uses a 1000 series Shimano Stradic Ci4. I have gotten so much information on this board over the last few years and I try to contribute what I can. Anyway I want to get him the best guides I can,and I am open to suggestions. Thanks in advance!
