They will work great on all applications... not necessary for flipping but will not hurt anything. I even put the 18's on my offshore jigging rods... why not?

Good afternoon Eddie.. My go to grouper spinning rods are built on an ATX- AXVJ7050 or 7060 ... it is marked vertical jigging but a great multi-purpose blank.

Glenn, Like Chris mentioned above, you cannot go wrong with RingLock tips. Not only are they 316ss but with the Ring Lock design the ceramic is protected and any chance of ring loss is minimal. When the MicroWave guides were created we also designed the 5mm RingLock Light top to match them. All of our distributors should have them in stock and ready to go.. here is a link to them on M

They were discontinued a while back... I know there are a few retailers that may have some left... great blanks. The matrix fly blanks are amazing blanks... probably the easiest casting fly blank I have ever used

The MW12 is designed for the 3-6 wt fly... the MW18 on the 6-10 wt. So far real world testing is super positive! ... they help the novice casters and has no ill effect on professional casters. Looks great and works great. Great thing about them is you can retrofit old fly rods... use standard fly rod guide spacing.
