Deviating from the required guide placement provided with the MicroWave guide system may result in poor performance. Lots of extensive testing went into finding the perfect placement resulting in optimal performance.

Nicholas, what is your handle length? I am guessing you will be using more than the 3.... I would probably use 5-6 depending on the rear handle length.

As mentioned above.... take a look at the Bushido's.....
They are super durable with great feel, made from the best materials and are affordable.
There are many companies and tournament pro's (some of the worlds best) that are now using the Bushido blanks with confidence.

Black frame AirWave guides have arrived and are shipping to your favorite retailer.
These are made of the same high quality 316SS that you expect from AT guides.
The hard chrome double swedged 316SS ring is super tough and braid friendly.

I would agree with your decision for the Nanolite Tidal wave guides Andrew.... The system comes with 9 guides so you should not need any extra runners.... Good luck and have fun!

Good morning Andrew....
Are you building a spinning rod or casting rod?
What blank are you using?
If you are fishing large stripers with heavier spinning gear I would also recommend looking at the MicroWave 30's.
As far as ring material..... Nanolite is the hardest and will hold up the best to super braid lines in salt water.
If you need any help with your set up please do not hes

Thanks for the great feedback guys.... We are very happy with the Bushido line of blanks. We have expanded the line to include fly blanks and are working on many different models, including multi-piece.

With a blank and reel of that size I would highly suggest looking into the Virtus guides.... lights or heavy should work well. I think you will be super impressed with the short footprint, ring-lock system and the hinge points built into the Virtus frame. If you would like to try the MicroWave guides I would look at the MicroWave 50 set for this set up.

Good observation Lynn.... but the stripper guide in the standard MicroWave casting set does have a transition guide that is a tad taller than the running guides. The AirWaves and MicroLites are all the same.
To the O.P... Tom and others hit the nail on the head. We have found that as long as you are using a 1000-4000 size reel the stripping, transition and last running guides should be placed

Tom.... More than likely just wore out... it is not a new motor. They have several gears inside that wear out over time.

Nate.... as Todd mentioned... is it around all 3 pullys? the motor is designed to be able to reverse direction when enough tension is added to it. The drive belt should only be around the drying motor and the chuck pulley.
If it is around just the two and you are having problems please give me a call and we will take care of the issue asap

True the spinning Microwaves were demonstrated at all the shows where awards were won including the Innovation of the year to mark the MWG’s as winning more industry wide awards than ANY product in fishing tackle history.
This said, the very same patented technology that manages the line control (and won the awards) is the same for both casting and spinning configurations. It captures and cont
