One old Gudebrod "tigerish" looking thread was called Trimar or Astro. It had one tiny metallic gold or silver thread twisted in with the NCP solid color. (this from 1989 Clemens catalog) Take it from me it sounded better than it looked or worked. The Prowrap tiger is not NCP.

1172. Re: ICRBE
After further review, I would like to retract my post. Were it possible I'd be first in line to get in. So, I guess, sour grapes on my part. Wishing a great time to all who attend, and thanks to Tom for hosting it! For me it's either the show or 2 wk.s in Canada, and Canada wins out.

1173. Re: ICRBE
Buyers are buyers, Nobody in their right mind is going to the show to save money!!! No vendors are there to sell at a loss. Simple question, deserves a polite answer. Ugh.

Whatever you do adds weight.

If you use PG while turning as Tom shows with CF grips it will work great. A few coats would even add some strength (toughness?) to the wood.

Anthony you have just been put on the correct path. Not nearly to heavy a rod for your intent. That's why we have drags on reels.

Your'e being played, or I'm a Dutchman. Nobody makes 6-9 to 7ft. flipping blanks. So you'd have to use your imagination a little.

So that would be 1/2 oz. then.! 691 MLXF. My opinion. Wait for more responses.

The Rainshadow blanks mentioned are not what you're looking for. They are 1 pc. plus blanks, only 2 segments.

The trick is to find some who sews in your area, design it yourself, provide the fabric, and have them sew it. Hardest part is finding that person.

To the best of my knowledge it has no discernible effect.

I'm up in the air on this topic, I do and I don't. If it's a skinny delicate tip section I'd rather the guide pull out than have the tip section break, although the tip may break either way if enough force is applied to pull a guide out. Fuji says they're not needed.

Phil, read it again. What do I need the weight for?

Phil, from my perspective, the lure would be on the bottom of the lake and be lightly hopped or crawled back to the fisher-person while trying to feel the bottom. (bottom contact baits) This operation is less fatiguing if you don't have to fight the weight of the blank and guides ahead of the reel. I only balance casting rods used for these techniques. I try to achieve a tip neutral attitude

Phil, previous posts have indeed discussed this and if I'm not mistaken you've taken part in a few.

If you're not careful you may reach a point when you might enjoy the building more than the actual fishing. Sick thought.

From what I can discern, the Point Blank prices I mentioned above are on the level. (Custom Rod Components) For me, just under $100.00 shipped. PA

I don't know about the seats, but they also have Point Blank 6'6" spin jig blanks listed for $72. Kinda made me wonder?

My combo mentioned above seems to have worked pretty well. I sometimes use offcuts from pre-formed grips to make new grips and don't have the option of stacking my rings as Rick mentioned. Leaving these pits was not an option. Whatever type filler that gives a pink-ish hue after application looks terrible.

Just did a grip with a mix of cork dust, Elmer's Pro Bond golden oak, and Elmer's wood glue max. Results tomorrow.
