I have studied the articles in the library but am having a hard time visualizing how its done. On my next build i will be using microwave guides. With 1500 size reel on 7' 6 '' phenix rod. I guess i will wait until i have all the stuff then do it while i read.

I will be an ultri lighgt with a 1500 series real. I guess is how do i tell if it is to close are to far i cant here very good so wont be able to here line slap.

Sorry to bother you guys again but Im going to start 3rd rod soon and want to know if madeira, sandstone,chestnut, caramel brown and black is good choice for optic chevron? The colors really dont matter but want to make the 3d effect really pop. I chose these colors because I think they will go with my wooden realseat.Also can I use madeira for guide wraps.

I didnt spray anthing on the rod this decal came with my MHX blank it shows length,action,etc.

That might be my problem i just checked the rod and there are like pits in the finish along the edge of a decal.

Can you clean the rod with alcahol between coats of finish? I ask this because when i put on second coat there was a spot that seemd to repel the finish.I had to keep putting on globs of finish and wicking them off.I had to do it at least 10 times.

If you put tru-oil on before mounting the grip on the rod will it affect the epoxy's bond with the blank.

Thanks Tom I think I will try the toothpick. On my first rod I didn't even know to worry about it. I did it that way because I was having troubling getting finish behind the eye while the rod was turning.

Getting ready to put finish on my second rod. I am using prokote medium build how do I know its getting to the guide feet. On my first rod I dabbed finish at entrance to the tunnel.

I thank you all for your input, I didn't know it was such a volatile subject. Oh and since it has 2 spines I am going to build it on the straightest axis which doesn't align with either spine.
