Our new DC777 is great for fly rods, whether you are wrapping them by the piece or all together. I have personally sold to 4 fly rod builders in the last month and they are extremely happy. This machine leaves all others behind. Jim Ising knows. I would be glad to talk to you over the phone or email.

I have always wanted a machine that did it all, wrap, finish, and even cure. I wanted one motor that could do it all. Variable Speed, Reversible, Slip-Clutch, Self-Adjusting Chuck, On/Off Switch and Throttled Foot Control. The new Dual Control Motor is the heart and soul of our latest wrapper/finisher in one, the DC777. This new motor has it all WITHOUT the hassles of belt driven motors and t

I have tried them. I found them to be excessive, in the way and an over all annoyance while hand or power wrapping. Why have something in the way all the time, just so it will hold tension for a few backward wraps. Just my opinion.

Hey Tim
Even though we already communicated over email I wanted to post and answer.
The Dual Control motor is designed to drop in and work with Flex Coat track, but can easily be modified to work with any aluminum track system, as some of our customers have already done. However, our new DC777 machine comes with the most ergonomic alignment track, slot wall mounted roller supports, and com

Are you warming the finish prior to mixing? You can warm it to about 90 degrees or warm to the touch. This will help with mixing and keeping bubbles out. Also, we don't like auto mixers. You get better results with hand mixing with a round non-porous stirrer like our stir sticks or the back of a brush, just wipe it off. Mix until it is crystal clear and then pour out on aluminum foil. You c

Deep breath...just my personal opinions that could change...
Data, data, data, data, opinions on all sides, conspiracy theories, death. Try to squeeze some fishing in and less of the data. The best BBQ in Texas isn't made on a pit with a thermometer, its made by feel, and touch and heart and soul. Lets not forget that nothing in this world is perfect nor ever should be. Just like no rifle

160. Re: Epoxy brushes
Our disposable brushes are great. Disposable doesn't mean bad quality. Roger Seiders designed our brushes to have fine bristles that are tightly packed and cut to 3/8". Here is a video of them in action with our spin wave technique.

To me, turning cork or anything else on a wrapper/finisher/rod lathe or whatever you want to call it DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE. Under powered, not supported correctly, and most of all making a big dirty mess in the same space that you want to be super clean when you wrap and finish your rod. I don't get it. Separate spaces, separate equipment. Think wood shop VS. clean room.
That is how we do

With the room temperature at 72 degrees F, you can re-coat Flex coat in 6-8 hours. Expect a full cure in 24 hours.

10-4 on the cheap brushes, our brushes are disposable but great quality. We have them made domestically for higher quality. The bristles are extra fine and cut to ?" to work as a squeegee to easily control the flow of the finish.
Here is a short video demo:

I have no doubt Kevin will always make it right. I don't know anything about your specific issues, but Kevin is a stand up guy and won't let you down, in my experience. No body is perfect and we all make mistakes, its human. I am sure patience is appreciated all around.
