Chris, will American Tackle sell the a Microwave stripper separately from the sets?
"John ^^ mentioned that you had to buy the complete set.
Though this is not totally true (AT will sell you whatever you need)."

On my screen, that "looks" like quite a bend in the blank. Too bad the picture was not taken along a straight edge for clarity.

Spencer, I am not able to re-weigh because i have used them on a build. At the time, I weighed the guides a couple of times, I did not want to get it wrong, but may have. I did not check the scales against calibration weights, so I can not say how accurate they were. They always did the job weighing gun powder.
The fazlite rings are fairly recent. the density of the rings, and also the frame we

I ended up ordering these Fazlite guides and thought I would share the weight. I used a RCBS 5-10 scales. KLH 5.5M: .5 grains, KLH 8H: 10.29 grains, KLH 16: 30.81 grains. Converting to grams I get 2.69, or about half of the weight of the Alconite set that Lynn mentioned.

Hi,
I \was wondering if anybody had weighed KLH 16H, KLH 8H, and KLH 5.5M with fazlite rings?
Thanks

Leslie,

When I first used braid (power pro 10/2 ) I was trying to handle the boat in some wind while fishing. I managed to get the half hitch around the tip and also the wind blew the line between the reel and the stripper guide. That put an end to me using light braid. However I was able to pick up some thrifty deals on fire line 8/3 and 6/2. I have not had any tip kno

Hi Mark,
I am trying to help answer your questions from my experience (vibration analysis of fans, blowers, motors in an automotive factory). If a rod blank were a machine it could be analyzed many ways. A person could walk into the room and say the machine sounds good/ or not. A person could put a screwdriver from their ear to a bearing housing and listen to the bearing, race, etc., and say it

David,
Some years back I built a rod for spincasting on a nfc FW 602-1 delta blank. I spiral wrapped it and put an omega pro reel on it. I have used it mainly for bluegill and crappie. I have mainly cast 1/32–1/16 jigs. It seems to cast these as well as some of my ultralight 6’-7’ spinning outfits. It may be something you might want to look at.

Hi,,
It looks like some multi-piece casting or spinning blanks in the pictures. I do not seem to find these blanks in the listing provided.

I built on a pacbay ASP753-2 which is a 6' 3" 2 piece 1/4-5/8 oz.. After limited use it has been a good blank.

You might try a zebco omega ZO3PRO. It has worked well for me. It does not have a on/off antireverse, so no back reeling.

Hi,
When I spool mono on land, as David does, I use a wet paper towel between my finger and thumb. It seems to work well for me.

Hi,
I built a spincast rod with spiral wrap using a FW 602-1 (Delta LMX). I use it with a zebco omega pro 2 spincast reel. It casts light ( 1/32 and heavier lures) as well as the ultralight spinning setups I have. If you are wondering about the durability of delta blanks, this might interest you.

Ben,
Are you sure? I mean I have been very thrifty, but can anybody REALLY be as cheap as Mark Talmo??

For myself, there is something handy about a shoe box or two with v notches for the blanks. I can store the jar that holds the spool of thread for wrapping, along with extra stuff for rod repair and building in the shoe boxes. I only need to get the book for thread tension (usually Lucas on Bass), and I am ready to start. I do it as a hobby, usually in the winter.

I have the president xt 25, Quantum energy 10, Okuma RTX25. All have been good reels for me. The energy (now only available in size 15 on up) is the smoothest. I would say the rtx was in between the other two. the Okuma inspira is what I would get if i was currently looking at Okuma. I manually flip the bail on these reels, not sure if any would do well otherwise. Again all three work well for me

Hi,
I am wondering if there are any tip tops available that are highly visible in varying degrees of light? Or if there would be a modification that could be done to a tip top, to get the same results?
If I were to be baitfishing from the bank of a river, and not really paying attention (enjoying the scenery), I might notice the tip top moving.
Thanks

Dan, thanks for sharing. Some of these things could help me in a jig build for walleye in the future.

Chris, just wondering, which vendors offer a person a month to use there guides to test cast, and then return if not fully satisfied?
