Several variables there. Would depend on the type and size of blades on the spinner bait, the weight of the spinner bait and how you are retrieving the spinner bait when fishing it.

Hello Graham -- Not sure that you will receive any repsonses to this matter, as the MHX Travel Series of rod blanks are one of our latest editions to the MHX line-up. They have only been on the market for a few weeks now. I can guarantee you, like the entire listings of MHX blanks, they offer exceptional performace, at great pricing.

Chris -- The MB843-MHX is a true, med-hvy rod blank. It is one of the best all-purpose rod blanks out there. Builds into a very versatile rod for bass fishing.

For a size 5 Shad Rap, I preger the CB841-Blend MHX. Those lures have a tendecy to flutter thru the air when you cast them. I like the CB841, being that it flexes a bit further down in the blank and that provides you with more flex in the tip of the blank to be able and drive the lure when cast.

We do accept Pay Pal for payment, but not thru the web-site. You would have to phone the order, obtain the total for the order and then make the Pay Pal payment. Thank You

Pro Kote really works best at temps above 70. If you leave the rod in the cooler temp, it is going to take much longer to cure out and harden. I would not even store the Pro Kote in the cooler area. If you do decide to apply the finish in the basement area, I would at least bring it to a warmer area for the curing process. You will find the results to be best when working in a warmer area.

The best suggestion that I have heard, has been by Andres. You will never beat test wraps to make the decision. Wrap thread in the area where the handle will be installed. That way when you remove the test wraps of thread, it won't matter since you will be covering with the handle. You will then be able to see how the thread color appears on the actual blank color.

Personally, I do not use color preserver, just thread finish. If you are using Flex Coat, that will work just fine. There are probaly some that will tell you to use color preserver, but I find that I do not have to.

If you are thinking of using a actual varnish, I would try to discourage of using it. It would be best to use one of the 2 part thread finishes, such as Pro-Kote, Threadmaster, Flex Coat, U-40 Duragloss, Classic Coat, etc.

Zach -- Lots of rod companies now have guides made just for thier rods. This really holds true with many of the rods coming in from the orient. In many instances, some of these guides on those type rods are never sold as a seperate part in the U.S. Sometimes you may have to change/move some of the guides around and use another type guide in the guides sytem to make it work. I know that is n

There is a seperate, short arm extension piece that comes with the unit that helps aid in supporting the blank. You can use a clamp to attach to a work bench, table top, etc. You can place the additional third arm support either on the left or right side of the main wrapping unit.

It does sound as if you have applied too much finish. Being that Pro-Kote is a thinner thread finish, it works best for me to apply multiple thin applications to the desired build-up. Or, being as Pro-Kote has a longer working time, you can allow the finish to sit for 10 to 15 minutes before you start working wiht it. As it sits, it will becomes a little thicker and some find they had prefer

A rod has a reel seat, grips and guides on it, a pole does not have anything on it.

In the MHX series, we have either the F903-4-MHX or F904-4-MHX. The blank has a slate grey finish, no gloss. Both are 9' - 4 pc. blanks, in either 3 or 4 wt.

Chuck -- Thanks for reminding of the LP844 Lamiglas. That is a great blank as well. Rick -- Glad to hear you mention that MB941-MHX trimmed. It does have a very nice tip in it, along with a very powerful butt. Thank You for bringing mentioning that one.

If you are wanting something with more power and a bit stiffer tip, the SJ843-MHX is a great blank. Really good when fishing a shakey head deep. We also have a new model in the MHX line-up that is a proven shakey rig that falls in between a 2 and 3 power Spin Jig type blank, model SJ833-MHX. You did not mention the weight of the jig head that would be used and that also will help to determine

Tom -- Sometimes with colleges there can be a couple of variations of their main color. Years ago the orange was one color and the orange nowadays is just a little variation of the past. My opinion is that Pro Wrap Color Fast color #213 Clay is a very close match.

All according to the weight of lures being cast, a SJ782-2-MHX or SJ783-2-MHX. Can't go wrong with either of those models.

Another of the worse problems that I see with these long crappie rods, is the fact that guys want to lift fish in the boat with them. One of the worse situations is for a angler to point the rod straight up or hi-stick the rod, as he is swinging the fish in the boat. Pop goes the rod. Angler error!! Advise your customers not to do this. Thus a reason to slide a landing net under the fish

As far as I am concerned, the breakfast served by the food vendor at the Show Place is hands down better than the breakfast served at the hotel.

Jeremy -- For a couple of MHX models that work, our MHX Swim Bait banks are proven blanks for the Alabama Rig. According to the weight being used on the rig, either the SWB956-Blend MHX or the SWB967-Blend MHX. The Swim Bait blanks are lighter in weight than the Muskie blanks.

Darrell -- Model SWB956-Blend MHX Swim Bait blank that you have asked about has been used for the Alabama Rig with great success, as long as the weight being used on the rig does not exceed the 2 oz. rating. Another MHX Swim Bait blank, model SWB967-Blend MHX blank, which is rated up to 4 oz. is another proven blank for the Alabama Rig.
