Phil & Others, The procedure you mentioned is absolutely a great way to go about spacing guides per the flex of the rod. This item by CRB is a great tool to use for such a procedure and this guide tubing really is a great item for easily moving guides during the process - Thank You

Hello Anthony - Thank You for bringing this to our attention. After checking the blanks in our inventory, somehow a older, incorrect decal was packaged in the CAMO72M rod blanks. Decal is incorrect, the rod blank is correct. Our Customer Service Department will be sending you a correct decal. Very sorry for our mistake. Thank You

Mark - The Fuji KR Concept set-up is a great way to go. KR is "One" of the best advancements in guide train systems that has ever come along. but keep in mind if you do so, the guides will more than likely be positioned on the rod blank at different spacings. Please, do not take this as I am trying to talk you out of not going with the KR set-up. Just wanted to point that out to you,

Hello Daniel - Overall a glass blank will be much more durable. If that is the case and you are looking for the most durable and powerful rod blank, a CRB Gator - - It also has a softer, moderate type tip flex for a 50 lb rod blank, which many anglers prefer to offset for the jump in the Tarpon. Another very good choice would be the CRB Value E-Glass - - Thank You

Hello Mark - As a suggestion, a size 2500 reel would be a good all-round choice for that rod , but would check with the owner of the rod. If the owner would go that route, a BLVAG-25 Fuji Alconite, V-Frame, followed by a size 16 would be a good choice. Over the years past, I have set-up many of that type rod, that way, with good results.

If you cleaned the rod and wraps with denatured alcohol, it is best to wait 24 to 30 hours for the residue of the alcohol to completely evaporate before applying another application of thread finish. Mild solvents, denatured alcohol, 92% Isopropyl alcohol, all can cause problems if they have not completely evaporated. Not saying that I would use a denatured alcohol, but if you did, it has to com

Hello Derick - Both CRB Series of rod blanks are very tough and durable for what you are wanting to do. I would give the edge to the CRB Gator Glass for the type of build you are considering. Here is a quote from the Mud Hole Custom Tackle web-site - Gator rod blanks are arguably the toughest fiberglass blanks available! If you are rough on rods, then you need to try these Gator blanks because

Purchasing one of their rods and removing the grips would be the only way that I know of. Then you would have to bore out the rod blank inside the grips. That would make the grips quite spendy!

Mike - Production Rod companies develop their own styles and colors for their rods. In most cases, those grips used by the production companies are not offered to the public. At Mud Hole Custom Tackle, we carry every grip that Winn offers to the customer rod builders or the general public, that are not prioritized to specific production rod companies. Hello Joe - If you are setting these rods up for just the kids, you may want to consider the reach of the kids arms to the where the fore grip would be located. The fore grip is what they will be holding to fight the fish. That blank should work with a # 2 butt and the length of the # 2 butt can vary with each type.
