Tie a piece of the wife's tights over the end of a vacuum pipe the vacuum the area you dropped the guide, if the guide is on the floor it will be found against the nylon, (as long as the vacuum is running).

Big thanks to Mud Hole yet again after sending over my order to the UK. A pleasure to deal with, great communications and superb service. They certainly could teach a few others about real customer care. Thanks again mud Hole, you've got my vote every time. Phil Hardy (UK).

OK puzzle is solved, the drive belt is the same as the Pac bay one, my old one had stretched. I've managed to get hold of a grub screw, (set screw), so all is well. The supplier Get Bit Outdoors have been very helpful, still hope to get the replacement set screw from them though! Cheers and thanks for all the replies. Phil.

Hi Guys, just received my ALPS chuck all the way over here in the UK. It arrived a little worse for wear with a few dinks and dents due to the poor handling no doubt. What I am seeing is there is little space between the main pulley and the drier motor pull to enable the drive belt to be changed??? Also is there a measurement to drill the new holes in the base, or is it just by eye? Also, I n

Managed to find a supplier here in the UK at last. Seems any automotive degreaser may do the job although I'd rather use something supplied by a professional rod builder's recommendation. Philip

Been reading about anti silicon wipes using acetone, IPA etc. but would like to get everyones opinion about a solvent as used in the auto spray shops. Would it be too agressive? Where to buy it? Who sells it? Regards, Phil.

Hi Roger, yes, that's what I normally do but struggling a tad with the small single foot guides and have found the adhesive really useful. I'm sure I bought some over here a year or so ago but for the life of me cannot find a supplier now. Cheers, Phil.

Hi Guys, I've managed to loose my stick of guide foot glue and can't find a supplier over here in the UK. Does anyone know who might stock it over here? I've thought about using tip top glue but not sure if would work out, any thoughts? Regards, Phil.

Steve, Where are you based? I'm down in Salisbury Wiltshire. Depending on the size of your room, why not get a black heater in there, I use a couple in my workshop, (not my rod building room), and these heaters keep the temp around 11°C even in the winter. They cost about the same to run as a 100 watt lightbulb and will keep your rod building room at a regular temperature. Regards, Phil.

Hi Bill, Sorry to hijack your thread. I'm sure I read somewhere that Dale described a guide foot holder to help with the dressing of guides, do you know if there is such a thing and maybe where I could get hold of the info? Regards, Phil.

Has anyone looked at/designed/fitted a thread tensioner to a PacBay wrapper similar to the Renzetti layout? I have piano wire and can bend it as necessary but can't work out how to fit it. Regards, Phil

Thanks for all your replies guys. I have found the pulleys I am after on the Batson site. The drier motor is item "E" but for some reason the pulley is not listed? I have asked my good friend John Repacci to contact them in the hope they can supply me with 3 and John will send them over. John has helped me many times in the past and I have been blessed with making a real friend with
