I have refinished several of these rods. If you want a restoration to original rod find someone to finish it but if you want it restored to fish but still keep it fairly original you can do it. Get some of the citrus stripper and take all the eyes off the rod then inspect it like Tom has said. Neil, best blank I've found is Batson Revelation REVS54UL-SB or in 2 piece REV54UL-2SB. Built 5 of them for fishing up here and no complaints.

Just finished this one for a friend, it has a handle of solid Honduran rosewood. The finish is PG. Little heavy but satisfactory for his type of fishing.

This is a Batson pack spinning rod made for our Pheasants Forever @#$%&. It consists of 2 brass inlays in a combination of red cedar,maple ,walnut,ebony,tulip wood and rose wood. The inlays were imbeded in LS Supreme allowed to cure sanded and finished with Permagloss.

Handle made with arbor vitae rings and trimmed with ebony wood. Reel seat insert is also ebony.Arbor vitae is almost as light as cork.

6 1/2 ft. St. Croix blank lenghtened to 7 1/2 ft. and covered with cherry,corian,maple and walnut checker and capped with ebony. Split grip is centered with texaliun insert.
