I'm not a big fan of IG for rodbuilding, but it's an effective tool to reach people. IMO, I feel it's worth it to have a kit handy. The UV Curing resin has a lot of uses other than just as a guide wrap finish. When I was at the ROd Forge facility a couple of weeks ago they timed me and it took 7 minutes to coat and cure 9 guides. With practice and on my set up at home I'm sure I could have a rod

But I do know for a wuick turnaround on repairs, or i my case - I shipped 3 blanks to Florida and was able to build myself 3 fishign rods and take them fishing within a couple of hours time - with no wrapper, no

One part of their business will be building finished rods, and possibly blanks for other companies to put their name on. The other part will be having a full line of blanks for custom rod builders to build on.

Bob Penicka who started Rodgeeks, has opened a blank manufacturing facility in Dallas, Texas - it is called Rod Forge. He will be using his same gameplan for this venture - painted blanks, top notch customer service, and a 24-48 hour turn around on all orders. They are expecting to sell blanks at the ICRBE in NC in February.
