What’s everyone using for transfer tape? Sometimes the scotch tape I use wants to pull the decal up or damage the ink.

On fitted seats like ECSM I pack the front opening with epoxy, no arbor.

What are you using to design your labels that you print yourself?

Thanks Mick for your time messaging with me about this. The conclusion I’ve come to is that regarding casting and spinning blanks, CCS measurements alone will not give you lure weight ranges. The formula on CCS literature is little or no help. You must use IP and AA together and compare to a known quantity from your own tests or results from one of the data bases. Now that I’m resolved to that I’

I listened to that Live talk just to hear what was said relevant to this thread. Mr Loomis stressed building with any curve facing up (straightest axis) but went on to say that is 99% the spine as well. My experience has been just the opposite. The spine and straightest axis almost never line up. When pressed he went on to say that in the event of them not lining up that spine trumps straightest

You could wrap over the decal area, epoxy, decal and final coat. Down side is won’t be level with the rest unless you build it up too

Line touching the blank in a deep bend doesn’t hurt a thing. As long as it doesn’t dip below in a bow string effect. Personally I’d rather save the tip weight.

I haven’t found an Apple App that I can make heads or takes of. Any suggestions or should I grab an android device just for this?

11. Re: Rod Forge
The Rodgeeks influence is apparent in their marketing. Good blanks with custom colors available is a boom for me.

Invisible as in silk will show the whole guide foot. If what you want is matching , I use gunmetal nylon which darkens just enough to match a raw blank

The idea of fiberglass tape is to get epoxy all through it to the blank. Using strip and epoxy in between you may as well use masking tape

Then there’s the fact that’ a blank can have a minimal amount of a high modulus material to be legally marketed as such. We’ll never see a system that will take the place of in hand and on the water experience with a blank or rod.

I had someone tell me that I should use a size larger tube to make room for more glue. This is counter intuitive to me. I aim for a fit with no slop that slides on easily. Am I missing something?

Holding a spinning seat with reel stem between my middle and ring finger, palming a casting reel, or even using the trigger grip, there’s so little contact with the grip that comfort and sensitivity play almost no role in material choice.

I’ve seen similar posts in fishing sights claiming that at one time Fenwick used power ratings to indicate deadlift capacity: 1 power=1 pound, 2 power = 2 pounds etc. the logic of this escapes me. Has anyone ever heard of this?

Please explain how a blank can have three actions. It obviously doesn't know what you're doing to know where to bend.

I'd consider Minima Match guide reduction train 20/10/6/5.... runners and a Fuji Alconite top.

Locking wraps make final alignment more difficult for me. I can get them close enough to work fine but guide alignment is the first thing customer and potential customers look at. I go back and forth on this.

24. PacBay blank
Does anyone have a line on a PacBay QuickLine QLMBC845? I quoted one to a customer and then couldn't order it. Thought I'd check here before making a dozen separate inquiries.
Thanks!

Does anyone still sell the Manley Adjust-A-Butt? I'll need 3-4 I think. The Manley site is only shows some O rings.
Thanks!

If I remember correctly the set comes with 9 runners for a total of 11. That should be an extra or two for a 7' bass rod

Yup. I hold my breath before every reveal. Nothing beats the look on their face when you've met or exceeded expectations. No matter how special the build I wouldn't trade that feeling for anything.
