Maybe drill a small (1/16" in the center of the male piece nd use a small screw to remove it by pulling- Strictly a guess on my part. I am sure there are much smarter people out there who have done that removal before & have a better idea

I am looking for the spec's on that particular Blank single piece. I learned how to steelhead with this blank in the early 1960's. Not being overly bright I am unable to find that particular blank spec's. Thanks in advance for your help I am aware they are no longer available

Wrapping guides has taught me one thing for certain. PATIENCE! =X 6 Which I need at this time and point in my life- Recovering from an unplanned surgery plus another thing I had and could have killed me I understand- I am impatient like you would not believe. I don't have enough energy to wrap a single guide right now- Tried to wrap single foot spinning guide and -lets just say it wasn't what

CRB 2 Piece Color Series Rod Blanks Since its going to travel a lot, Why not the above series? multiple colors- I built several of these for grandkids and have given a few away. I have had no complaints on breakage- Even my wife when she was able to fish with me has one still. They are inexpensive, not MHX's but what the hey.

the thread is a variegated thread polyester- stupid me didn't think of a l9nger tag end will give it a try and keeping my fingers crossed: It had me frustrated to a point of throwing the spool away. Going peel about 40 feet or so off and throw that away. I will try gluing it down under the the guide foot. Thanks for the help and suggestions and thoughts.

i use a pacbay RW-XL new belt. I am bending the rod tip half while wrapping a good 1/4" but that's a guess it is noticeably bent while wrapping to a point i am concerned about breaking the thread while wrapping. I had finished one complete guide and walked away then came back and while wrapping one half of the guide the other wraps on the first guide loosened up. Learned my lesson about k

I am trying to wrap a blank for a salmon fishing rod (family). Today I started to wrap and got one guide wrapped (double foot) and was ground-filed for smooth transition from guide to blank. Phone rings and I get involved with the call. Walk away and came back to find both sides of the guide wraps loose. NOW I know i am not the sharpest rock in the box of river rocks, but sheesh! So I red

I saw a bench top a few years ago that was made of bowling alley lane material-I believe its maple but I may be wrong. Trying to remember where i saw it. It was being used for 2 uses in mind. One was a reloading bench and the other was for rod building. I lost track of the person who made the bench. It looked like it would hold up very well- One question i never got answered was how it was cleane

This particular the guides are not welded on but wrapped. The blank is not a hex shape but square with rounded corners. I cant insert photos here or I would. I have an issue with the photo side-cant post pictures or register- Tried this morning to do that very thing and I have yet received the email-and I looked in my spam folder. I registered for both sides back in 2008 and I have never b

I just ran across a rod that I didn't know i had. It is a "GEP-ROD) with a ring for securing the reel in place. The actual blank is hex shaped steel and has no finish on it at all, cork grip that is broken off at the butt end. I tried by had to loosen the nut that hold the blank in place and no such luck (got weak in my old age). I have been trying to find some information on this rod and i

Gorilla Glue also markets a non foaming clear glue. Says it will bond almost anything. I have used it on several projects, and it does bond extremely well. I have not used it on cork as of yet, but shortly I believe I will try on a new rod for myself. I expect it will perform flawlessly. Also please READ the precautions listed on the back.

I grind extremely lightly using a small corded or cordless grinder similar to dremel 100. Aluminum oxide fine stone (think chainsaw sharpening stones or finer for use). Using a guide holder (tried several types of jewelers, regular & locking types of pliers and practiced on yard-sale rod guides i removed for practice. Learning curve there. I just do it lightly (extremely light 3 or 4 passe

I have dug out a rod blank from storage-(assuming its a fly rod since a reel seat and grip is installed.) I have been looking online for the past few days and have gotten no where. The rod is a 7' 5 1/2" 2 piece blank. I am unable to post pictures and frankly not sure where to post them. The blank itself is a spiral (or appears to be )wrapped fiberglass and is very dark brown. I belie
