Could any of you suggest a thread color close to Alabama's crimson red as well as their grey?
Either regular nylon or a color fast thread would be very helpful.

There is no question that the RX7 are not good blanks. They are very good, even the older RX7 are good blanks. And for that the matter the RX6 blanks are fine blanks. Hopefully the RX10 will show itself to be excellent as well. I had one break on about 30 cast. I replaced it to its original Owner, and he is still putting its through its paces. I hope it falls in line with the RX8. Time wil

Marc just mentioned durability with the Revelation blank. Compared to the Immortal I believe the Revelation is more durable. I believe that is by design. If you look at how your typical fishing trips are taken, rods carried in bundles, rods riding in vehicles, very rough boat rides especially in short boats, you might want to consider the Revelation. I use a lot of Immortal blanks for myself a

It has been some years since I purchased any blanks from RodGeeks. Can anyone comment on their status and quality of products?
I did not have any issues with my other purchases. I'm just out of date with their products.

I have both rods in my boat for using with traps. Consider the MH and use a alum oxide tip. You do need to be able to feel a lipless bait. Always. I never liked Mjnima but to each his own. My blanks were all RX7s. An MH can be used with 12 to 10 lb if need be. I use 15 lb if it is weedy. If you like the M, go for it. I believe the MH is more versatile.
Fine blanks for the money.

The Revelation CB REVCB70MH mentioned above by Mr. Taylor is a very good trap rod using a 1/2 oz. It will throw down to 1/4 to 3/4 pz with just a little adjustment in line size and a little practice. It's a very versatile blank. Durable yet sensitive. More sensitive than the blank gets credit.

I've never worked with Dragon Scale. What can you expect to see after the first coat of epoxy? I would think you would have a ton of bubbles. Any comments would be appreciated!

As a follow up to Joseph's question on "Walleye" Rods, what is the difference in a MIcro quide verse a Macro guide? I saw this on a bass rod manufacture's site the other day.

Folks, would any of you be willing to comment on this blank manufacture as it relates to Bass Blanks, especially for Swim Bait applications. Say up to 2 oz. or slightly more. Your comments would be appreciated.

I am not a full time rod builder as others who have responded to your post. I do have more than 80 new builds out being used. The vast majority being of the manufacture of the RX7 line of blanks.
I have a customer whom I have build 5 rods. All RX7 or RX8 model lines. He broke an RX8 after about 1.5 years of full use. Meaning weekend tournaments, club and buddy tournaments. The b

The thread "cracks in epoxy" listed below brought up some comments on the flexibility of various epoxies. Several brands were mentioned. I have never tested the major brands in a trial to "check" flexibility. I have used two brands with one being settled on about 5 years ago.
I have seen cracks on too many "shelf" rods to count. And some of mine as well. Th

Glad to hear you might be adding some new colors. Being that I a green/red color blind, you might want to consider printing the color name on the spool. I hate to keep asking my wife to help me with color matching. Maybe like some of your competition labels their thread. I have been using your thread quite a bit lately. The Ultra Poly is not bad, not bad at all.

I have noticed on some micro guides, depending on how the foot is ground at the tip, there will be a slight burr pointing up. I usually take a small diamond dust file (flat) and hit the end on top and check the bottom for any new burrs I might have made by hitting the top. Takes hardly no time at all to prep.

I have 4 CB line rods I have build for myself and triple that many for other friends. I built 2 - CB70MH and 1-CB76MH. I had the CB70M blank sitting in the corner for several years and finally got around to building a casting set up with Alps micros. The thought was I would use it for 1/4 oz traps and crankbaits. When I started to fish with it, (this year) , the rod was no where like I

When I started working on rods I would work in an open shop. I noticed that often times I got a "blush". I would bring a rod from inside the house with a temp of about 70F. It it might be much warmer outside in the shop. I believe I was getting a slight condensation on the rod and to a degree, on the finish as it set up. Because the rod was cooler, I believe I got a type of condensa
