I know the stuff your talking about. Last I saw of it was some stuff Billy V. had. Not exactly the same material but about the same varigated pattern.

No just more coats INBETWEEN the bottom and top would do that. Read the article they have on the site for that info.

That's normal for tempered cane. The color changes happen when the cane is flamed.

Hey I will be glad to build rods for customers that supply their own parts. If they understand that I will not warranty their parts then I come out ahead! What could be better than building a rod, making the money, and not having to worry about warrantying the rod? Sounds like a great situation for a custom rod builder to me!

I would reccommend that with 12 pound mono you use two transition guides instead of just one. If you put a 30-20-12-66666666 or whatever it might work better. Always test cast to make sure.

I think you need an air barrier. Get a toilet paper or paper towel tube and shim it so it fits over the weave or wrap in the area where you do not want heat to disturb anything. Some heat will transfer from the ends of course but not enough to harm anything I think. Just put an air barrier between the main area that you do not want heated. Just an idea but I think it will work.

But one thing to keep in mind has to do with the stability and features that many power wrappers offer over basic hand wrappers. Sometimes you can buy a power wrapper without the motor and that ends up making the BEST possible hand wrapper system.

Sensitivity is not a myth! Some rods are more sensitive than others and you should be able to build a custom rod that is more sensitive than any factory built rod.

The bigger question would be whether to use a fine thread or coarse thread bolt.

Any dealer that sells Fuji parts can order the folding guides for you.

If you liked Gudebrode you will like Prowrap. They are interchangable but thr Prowrap is more consistent colorwise.

The THICKER the epoxy the less the colors will run together. The THINNER the epoxy the more the colors will intermingle and combine.

19. Re: loop scoop?
The little single foot wire guides would have to be the lightest. Keep the size small and use only as many as needed and you would have the least amount of weight possible on that rod. If you use ceramics I would cut the total number of guides by one to even out the weight difference.

So he is saying you charged him for SC5 and he only got SC3. If you have it all in writing and clearly show that he was getting SC3 and that's what you priced then why make any adjustment? You cannot run scared just because somebody says they are going to badmouth you. Who would believe him anyway?? Stick to your guns and charge the price you quoted and which he AGREED to.

Why would you have the REAR EVA grip setting against a winding check?? Its the front EVA grip that has a winding check on it.

E-mail sent. In the meantime why not list the sponsors that have them in stock right now. I do not think I can be the only one that has had a nightmare in getting the series 4 minima fly rod guides this past year.

I would overwrap with the nylon green and leave a little tag of gold showing at the very ends.

Why not just tack on ten bucks per rod or something like that? That should be enough to cover all the incendentals used on a rod.

Make sure to try a line tamer guide about three to four inches past the stripping guide. Make it the same size as your normal second guide and just add in there at that distance. Sometimes this makes a BIG difference in casting quality and distance. If you do not like it, just remove it because the rest of your guide spacing would be standard anyway.

Shows can be great for your business IF you pick the right type of show. I prefer craft shows to fishing shows. Women are always looking for ideas for things to buy their husbands and fathers on special occasions. Getting your business card in their hands can net you custom rod sales during the rest of the year. Nothing against fishing shows but you have a lot of competition there.

If you have done any work then you automatically have what is known as a Bailee Lean and it becomes yours once you notify them of a certain time period they have to come and get the rod. This is not the same from state to state though. If you are just holding onto some parts then I am not sure any of it ever becomes yours. Check with your state attorney general office. They can tell you for sure.
